At Mekorma, we tend to be sticklers about keeping software current – it’s a value we adhere to internally, and we recommend the same to our customers. The benefits of running the latest code far outweigh any temporary inconveniences or extra time commitments required to upgrade.

There are some very good reasons to start planning  your Microsoft Dynamics GP upgrade to the latest release, in addition to being on the latest release of Mekorma Payment Hub.

Microsoft will be ending mainstream support for Dynamics GP 2015 and 2015 R2 as of April 14, 2020. Product enhancements, including tax and year-end updates, will no longer be available. If you haven’t already, we recommend you plan to upgrade to the latest version, Microsoft Dynamics GP October 2019 release (18.2).

This most recent version of Dynamics GP adheres to Microsoft's Modern Lifecycle policy, which aligns product support with all other Microsoft products like Windows, Office 365, etc., and works differently from the Fixed Lifecycle policy of previous GP versions. Upgrading to the latest version of Dynamics GP will enable you to receive continuous product updates and support, as long as you keep current within a defined time frame.

For Mekorma customers

This impacts our customers in the following ways:

  • Our next release, Mekorma Build x81, will be the final build supported with GP 2015.

  • Future builds will be compatible with Dynamics GP 2016 (ends July 2021)GP 2018 R2 and GP October 2019 release (18.2).

  • We have updated our Premium Support policy to reflect the Microsoft Dynamics GP lifecycle for GP2015. All clients with a renewal expiration of September 30, 2020 or later who are running GP2015 or 2015R2 will be required to pay the additional premium support fee at the time of their renewal. See our Enhancement Plan for details.
