Featured ISV Product: Enhanced Voucher Selection by Blue Moon Industries

I have always had a good personal and professional relationship with the folks over at Blue Moon Industries, and in particular with Janice Phelps (Operations Director), and Chris Hoard (Lead Software Engineer). So, it was no surprise that when I saw them both at last year’s Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Conference in Fargo, North Dakota the conversation would go beyond just the usual pleasantries. At the time, I was heavily involved with the development of our new Multi-Batch Management (MMM) service, which gives Dynamics GP clients who own Mekorma MICR a way to process all their payables batches from one screen. In sharing that information with Janice and Chris, they in turn talked to me about their Enhanced Voucher Selection product which they saw as a perfect fit to work along with MMM.

It was only natural that after returning from Fargo, I would download and play with the product. So, here is my take.

Enhanced Voucher Selection improves the Microsoft Dynamics GP traditional payment selection process by adding and expanding the range of selection options available to users. It also provides a mechanism to select and edit all vouchers from a single window, which reduces the time-consuming process of visiting multiple Microsoft Dynamics GP windows to accomplish the same task. One of the coolest usability aspects of the product is its generous voucher sorting capabilities – last time I counted, they were 7 sorting methods – from which you could establish defaults to be reused each and every time you pay vendors. As if that weren’t enough, Enhanced Voucher Selection provides a check stub preview window to quickly inquiry documents applied to a voucher.

I truly like the compactness of the payment process delivered by Enhanced Voucher Selection. The amount of information provided, along with the filtering and sorting capabilities, make a seemingly complex process very streamlined and efficient.
